Every state plays by its own rules — Apex Tags shows you exactly what's possible in yours. Tap a state to see what's live, what's coming, and what we can do there today.

States marked "Appraisal & collectibles" have no legal channel for compensated plate transfers today. Apex Tags provides certified appraisals, Year-of-Manufacture collectible sales, and paperwork assistance there — and never facilitates transactions state law prohibits.

The staggered release

We don't dump 999 plates at once.

Flooding the market crashes prices and buries the best numbers. Apex Tags releases each charity series in timed tranches — scarcity stays high, every drop is its own event, and collectors come back week after week. More total raised for the charity, every time.

The Delaware Exchange

The only true plate market in America. Now with modern rails.

Delaware plates are personal property — legally bought, sold, and passed down. Apex Tags brings escrowed settlement, MV73 paperwork, and verified provenance to a market where a single-digit tag has sold for $675,000.

Why we're building this — and how it works.

Apex Tags starts as a community. Auctions come next. Here's the honest version of what we're doing, how the money works, and why it's built to do some good.

01

Why we do it

The rarest plates — single digits, legacy tags, unissued low numbers — are worth real money, but there's been no honest, transparent place to celebrate them or move them. We're building that place. And where plates can legally be sold, we route the proceeds toward good: charity plate programs and the causes they fund.

02

How it works

First, the community — post your plate, tell its story, no transactions, open to all 50 states. Then, in the handful of states where transfers are legal (Delaware outright; Massachusetts, Colorado, and Texas through official charity or state channels), we'll run proper auctions with escrow and paperwork handled end to end.

03

How we make money

On charity auctions, the sponsoring nonprofit keeps 100% of the hammer price — we're paid by a transparent buyer's premium added on top, the same model the big auction houses use. On Delaware collector sales, a straightforward commission. On appraisals, a flat fee. No hidden markups, no taking a cut of the charity's money.

Run a charity plate program, or curious how this could work in your state?

We're lining up launch partners now. Tell us about your series and we'll be in touch as auctions come online.
